About Penlets.com

The two of us were able to attend JaveOne 2008, and we were pretty amazed at not only all of the products and services for Java developers, but also the gadgets that Java has found its way into. This seemed to be a core theme of JavaOne 2008, where they wired the conference with a sensor array, controlled by Java of course, that could sense among other things where the biggest crowds were. Then there was the "smart car" that drove itself, a real-time color ball sorting machine, and of course, the Pulse pen.

When the Pulse was presented I was sitting by myself, and received a text message from my friend saying, "I am getting one. Do you want one". Before I could respond I received another saying, "I got 3". It is probably a good thing he bought the pens before the presentation was over, there was a really long line to buy the pen following the presentation.

When we got back from the conference we explored the pre-release of the Java API, and started writing all of these little demo apps, just trying to see what you could do. That is what Penlets.com is all about, showing off those little demo apps, and helping you write your own. We hope that our enthusiasm of the Pulse pen shows as we show off the pen's cool features.
